It is spring time, but some days still feels like winter here in the Pacific NW. Good thing that vinyl is made to last outdoors. Wood signs that are placed outside will be fine, as long as they are not directly in the rain. The cold temperatures will not affect the vinyl lettering on a wood sign.

Finally, after what has seemed like weeks and weeks of rain, we have some sunshine in the Pacific NW. I love when the sun is shining, it gives me energy and makes me happy. I created these cute Easter Egg baskets for my kiddos last year, and just realized I never posted pictures of them. My kids got stopped several times during their egg hunts by people wanting to look closer at them (which actually was keeping them from getting a ton more eggs and candy, but I was okay with that)! They were fun and creative to make, and I think I will do Halloween ones this year.

Hope everyone of you had a wonderful Christmas season and enjoyed time with loved ones. I am so grateful to have had such a great holiday season, but in a way am kind of glad the busy rush is over. Looking forward to fun and exciting 2010 year with lots of fun in store for my family and my business. I am no longer working my medical transcription job, taking time to focus more on my family and my business (the loves of my life). This gives me the opportunity to look at things that I can do to enhance and grow my business. Ideas are swiling in my head all the time, so check back often to see what comes of these ideas.

School auction items

I have always loved to donate items for school auctions. These are things that I donated to my kids school for their Harvest Bazaar Auction that helps fund the 6th graders to go to outdoor school. Had a lot of fun with these. Our PTA also started a new program this year, Adopt A Classroom, and I have enjoyed being able to donate signs for each classroom that has been adopted. If you have a business or know of a business that would like to adopt a Classroom at Holcomb Elementary, please contact me for more information. A great way to support a childs classroom, get some great publicity and advertizing, and also enjoy the tax donation.

If you have a school or charity event located in the Portland metro area and would like a donation towards your event, please contact Melissa at 503-545-6868. I love to be able to help schools and other organizations that help the community. I would need to be contacted at least 2-3 weeks before the event. Donated items and amounts vary depending on availability and how many requests I receive. The earlier you contact me, the better your chances of receiving a higher donation amount. (Just a side note, almost every item I have donated towards auctions has sold for retail value, and at times have sold for more than the retail value).

Look What I Did - Kids Art Boards

A great way to display your child's art work, school papers, or other special projects. Makes it easy for the kids to put papers up on their own. One with five colorful clips, and one with metal and five magnets. Cost is $30 each.

Someone asked me the other day, if I had to pick my favorite sign to give as a gift which one would I choose? I automatically knew it was the magnetic photo boards. I love so many of the signs I make, but these are my absolute favorite. They make a nice, easy and quick way to display and change out photos. Be creative and unique in your gift giving this holiday season.

This magnetic board is 19 1/2 x 17 1/2 and has a 12 x 18 magnetic area for photos. I call this one the "giant magnetic board". Great for those who want to display a lot of different pictures. Comes with six magnets. Price is $45.

This is the most popular, and thus my reason for submitting it in the homemade holiday contest at Michaels. It is 10 x 24 and comes with six magnets, two for each 4 x 6 magnetic area. A few other options for sayings: Live, Laugh, Love; Dream, Believe, Achieve; Faith, Hope, Love; Faith, Family, Friends; Cherish, Tresure, Adore; Precious Little Ones; and Wish, Hope, Dream. Again, any sayings can be added to a customized board. Price is $35.

This board is 12 x 12 and has an 8 x 11 magnetic area. Comes with ribbon to hang on the wall. Ideas for lettering: Grandkids, Family, Friends, Love, Princess, Home, Where Your Treasure Is There Will Your Heart Be Also, These are a few of my favorite things, Buddies, Giggle, Smile, Cherish, Dream, BFF, Adventure, Memories. This is a new size I just started making. Size is 11 1/2 x 24 with an 10 1/2 x 18 magnetic area. Comes with six magnets. Any saying makes this a perfect display board. This is a wonderful way to earn free and discounted products for your home, as well as a fun evening for you wtih friends and family. All you do is invite friends and family to your home, I bring the signs and set up a small display area, and give each guest individual custom sign design time. Signs can also be purchased during that night, and you would get a portion of the profit towards free product for yourself.

If you would like to turn the party into a craft night, individual kits can be ordered for a fee and your guests can enjoy making their own signs that night. I am there to assist in any way necessary.

I was so excited to make some signs for the first ever local Oregon Dream Makeover. It was really neat to see the family come home to their newly decorated home today. What a truely deserving family. Traveling Business Card

What is a traveling business card? Your business card on your vehicle -only larger. Vehicle magnets are a safe on your paint and easy to remove when you do not wish to promote your business. Just remove before going through a car wash, as they will come off. Bring inside during cold nights (if your vehicle is not parked in a garage) and place on a fridge or dishwasher (anything flat and magnetic to keep the shape of the magnet).

Price: $80 a pair (two magnets - one for each side) and includes 1-2 colors, $90 with a logo. Single magnets are $45 with logo and $35 without. Magnet is white background, you choose your vinyl lettering colors and fonts.

Wall Words

What are wall words?

Vinyl lettering applied DIRECTLY to your walls. A wonderful way to express a thought or feeling to those around you without damaging or painting your walls. You have two choices when ordering your wall words: 1) I can apply it for you (with a small application fee - which guarantees if there is a problem with your lettering it will be reprinted free of charge), or 2) I give the cut lettering to you and you apply to your walls (instructions included -if you apply and any lettering gets wrinkled or tears, or you apply it crooked there is no guarantee and there will be a fee to have the lettering reprinted). The vinyl lettering will stay in place for as long as you like, will not damage paint, and can be removed easily with a heat tool or blow dryer (will not come off the walls without scraping with heat - not to worry withstands even a 3 year old).

These quotes were done in a lobby and hallway of a very nicely decorated dentists office. This added just the right touch to the decor of the office.

Personalized Name Signs - size 6 x 18 Cost is $25. Includes name, overlay (middle section going over the name) choice of colors, fonts and hangers. Ribbon is an additional $2 to any sign.

Wonderful Wedding Presents

New Sizes of Magnetic Boards

I now offer four choices for the Magnetic boards. Remember, the magnetic boards can be customized with your choice of saying, colors and ribbon.

1. A smaller version of the original "memory" board is a 9 x9 magnetic board. This is perfect for kids rooms or office where you may not have a lot of space to display. The cost on these is $15 and inculdes ribbon and two magnets.

2. The second is the original "memory" board that is a 12 x 12. This is the most popular size and includes ribbon and two magnets. Cost is $20.

3. This is a new larger version. I did this one custom for a friend, and it turned out SOO cute that I wanted to offer it to others. Again, customized with your own saying and colors, it would be a perfect addition to your home or office. Measurements 20 x 16 and includes a 12 x 18 magnetic area to display pictures and 6 magnets. Due to the size and weight, this sign will not hang by ribbon, but ribbon can be added to the top as a display (an additional hanger will be applied to hang on the wall). Cost is $45.

4. The triple magnetic board. This measures 12 x 24 and cost is $35. Customize with colors, sayings and ribbon to add that extra touch to your home. Three magnetic areas, each measuring 4x6 and comes with 6 magnets.

Vehicle Lettering and Logos

Promote your business while you drive. A simple and effective way to market to those around you. Display your business name, logo if applicable, phone number, email address and/or website on windows or directly on the vehicle itself. Lettering will not damage the paint to your car, has an outdoor life of 7 years (a longer period of time than most people own their vehicles), and is easy to remove with the correct tools and heat when desired.

In need of a vinyl banner? Variety of sizes, anywhere from 2x3 up to 4x6. Prices vary depending on size, colors and logo options. (Prices start at $85 for a 2x4 and go up from there)

The vinyl banners come with grommets on the each side and top for easy hanging. The banner itself and the vinyl lettering are both guaranteed for outdoor use and rainy weather (common occurance in Oregon).
